One of the most important pillars of Vision 2030 is supporting and empowering the private sector to contribute to the development process and create job opportunities .
The government , private and third sector (non-profit) is an essential part of the economy , and government support must be translated into tangible results in the progress and development of our economy .
Every year , thousands of our young men and women graduate from Saudi and international universities to start their search for jobs and focus on their professional lives . As is known , many dream of getting a government job because of its attractive features and benefits that the private sector may currently lack . All employees are looking for job security , salaries and benefits that are commensurate with their efforts , and reasonable working hours that do not hinder them from participating in their social lives .
There must be harmony between the two sectors so that private sector employees do not feel discriminated against . This applies at all levels , starting with the adoption of real and effective performance indicators in the public sector to evaluate employee performance . Job security does not mean wasting public money with an employee with low productivity unless he is developed and his capabilities are built . This also means reducing the gap in vacations between the two sectors , especially during Eid Al-Fitr , without negatively impacting companies .
In conclusion , I draw the reader’s attention to the successful experiences in the retail and service sectors despite modest salaries and benefits , lack of skill development and capacity building , weak incentives for citizens , and the absence of a clear career path , which led to high turnover rates.
